Apology to Sheik Khalid Binmahfouz.
Re: New Chairman of 9/11 Commission had Business Ties to Osama bin Laden's Brother in Law
On 27 December 2002, Professor Chossudovsky wrote and Globalresearch.ca published an article entitled « New Chairman of 9/11 Commission had Business with Osama"s Brother in Law».
This article was in part based on a testimony of former CIA Director James Woolsey to a Senate Committee in 1998, who stated that Sheik Khalid Binmahfouz' younger sister was married to Osama bin Laden. (US Senate, Senate Judiciary Committee, Federal News Service, 3 Sept. 1998).
This statement by former CIA James Woolsey was subsequently withdrawn and an apology was issued to Sheik Khalid Binmahfouz by Mr. Woolsey. Professor Chossudovsky and globalresearch.ca, having taken cognizance of the statement and apology of Mr. Woolsey, hereby issue the following apology to Sheik Khalid Binmahfouz.
Sheik Khalid Binmahfouz is not the brother in law of Osama bin Laden and has never supported terrorism. It was further wrongly alleged that Sheihk Khalid Binmahfouz was part owner of Delta Oil Limited. We accept that Sheikh Khalid Binmahfouz and his family abhor terrorism. We also apologise to Sheik Khalid Binmahfouz for the distress and embarrassment caused by the publication of the article.
