Corrections 2004

CORRECTION

The lawyer acting for Mr Binmahfouz has asked us to publish the following correction:

• On 30 October 2004, l'Humanité published an article entitled "G. W. Bush, oil, skulduggery and Co.", which suggested that Mr Khaled Binmahfouz was the director of the Bank of Credit and Commerce International (BCCI). We would like to make the following corrections: Mr Binmahfouz has never been the director of the BCCI. He has never held an executive position in the bank, of which he was only a non-executive administrator between 1986 and 1989 and a shareholder between 1986 and 1988. Furthermore, it has never been suggested that Mr Binmahfouz might have been linked to the criminal activities of which the bank is suspected.
